Cyclone Tracy was a tropical cyclone that destroyed parts of Darwin, Australia in 1974. I animated this set of two TV commercials on behalf of TIO insurance, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the historical significant event and to increase public preparedness for cyclone season in Northern Australia. Great care was taken during animation and sound design to emphasise the potential devastation caused by such a weather event, without causing unnecessary anxiety especially for those who lived through it.
